These Terms & Conditions govern your participation in the TCL Cup Football Competition (the “Competition”). Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before deciding to participate in the Competition.
To participate in the Competition, you must be over 18 years of age (as at the date of entry), have a valid international passport and must be eligible to travel to the United Kingdom (UK). By entering the Competition, you are agreeing to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. In addition, you are representing that the details provided are true and complete.
The TCL Cup Football Tournament is open to Arsenal Supporters, TCL Clients and Consumers, Media and KOLS in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
The Competition will be held on 26 April 2025. Details of the Final team representing South Africa at Emirates Stadium will be posted on the TCL social media platforms by 2 May 2025.
All entries should register on tcl.mettlestate.com on or before 26 April 2025, 8 am.
The participating members of the TCL Cup are solely responsible for obtaining all necessary travel documentation, including passports and visas. Travel and other insurances are not included in the prize, and the winner is strongly advised to take out insurance cover for all appropriate risks. All other expenses incurred in addition to the prize components expressly set out in clause 2.2 are at the sole expense of the participants. TCL is not responsible for any consequences, including costs incurred, if the participant's visa application is rejected or unavailable in time and reserves the right to withdraw the prize if, for any reason, the participant is unable to travel or attend the Finals.
UK visa fees should be borne by the players travelling to the UK. In the event the winning team is unable to travel, the prize will be given to the 2nd place team at the local tournament. No alternative prize will be offered to the original Winner.
Participation is not transferable. The winning team cannot replace players for the prize.
All promotional images produced by TCL associated with the competition, contestants, winners and prizes will be the property of TCL.
TCL is not responsible for entries to the Competition not delivered or delayed delivery to the email addresses due to any technical or operational reasons.
You agree that any and all personal information/data relating to you collected by TCL may be used and disclosed for purposes relating to the Competition and to such persons as may be involved in operating or promoting the Competition. Collection and use of your personal information/data shall be in accordance with TCL’s privacy notice, which may be found at https://www.tcl.com/my/en/legal/privacy-notice
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree that TCL will not be liable, under any circumstances and in any way, for any errors or omissions, loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of your participation in this competition.
If you are in breach of any of these Terms and Conditions, TCL may immediately withdraw your participation in the Competition without notice. TCL’s decision shall be final.
TCL reserves the right to cancel the Competition at any time if it feels it appropriate to do so due to technical, unauthorised human intervention or any other reason. TCL may change any dates set for the Competition at its absolute discretion by notifying the relevant participants.
Your entry into the competition is deemed an unequivocal acceptance of these terms and conditions.
UK travel will take place from 24th 25th and 26th May (dates and times may vary).
All members of the team that wins the TCL Cup (South Africa tournament) will receive: a) transport (if located in the UK) or flights (economy class) to and from the country of residence of the winner to London United Kingdom, b) accommodation for three (3) nights in London, c) meals as follows: breakfast on the 24th 25th 26th May (subject to check-out / flight time), lunch on the 25th and dinner on the 24th and 26th May, and d) training session at the Arsenal FC training center (itinerary subject to change depending on final confirmation of flights and activities and availability).
Please note that the participant is liable for any costs relating to damages. The hotel reserves the right to refuse services to any guests who do not adhere to their health and safety, general terms and conditions, or who cause a disturbance at the venue. Hotel rooms and event venues are non-smoking, and any guests found to be smoking on-site or around the venue surrounding areas will be liable for a fine and will be asked to vacate the premises if any kind of disturbance or damage is caused.
Any specific dietary requirements must be provided at least 6 weeks in advance of the event.
Participants will arrive in London by 25th May 2025, and depart on the 27th May 2025 (dates and times may vary).
All participants in the TCL Cup (for the duration of Phase 3 from 25th to 27th May 2025) participate at their own risk. Each participant will be required to sign a disclaimer before taking part in the AFC Training session.
All promotional images produced by TCL, any member of TCL group and/or the Agent associated with the Competition, entrants, winners and prizes will be the property of TCL. TCL reserves the right to publicise the names of winners, their photographs and their audio and/or visual recordings in periodicals (for example, the AFC Matchday Programmes and AFC Magazine), the Channels, the official websites of TCL and/or any member of TCL group.
The winners may be required to participate in public relations events to generate press coverage for the Competition. This may include, without limitation, quotes given by the winners for inclusion in press releases, attendance at prize-giving ceremonies, press conferences and interviews.
Each match shall be played by two (2) teams of (five) players, including the goalkeeper, and two (2) additional players as rolling substitutes.
Any of the other players may change places with the goalkeeper, provided that the referee is informed before the change is made, and that the change is made during a stoppage in the game.
The Rules of the Competition allow for “rolling” substitutes to be used. The number of “rolling” substitutions is unlimited.
Footwear shall be worn in accordance with the Laws of the Game and subject to any local regulations. (No metal studs or metal blades)
The wearing of shin guards, which must be covered by socks in accordance with the Laws of the Game, is compulsory. Any player who fails to wear shin guards does so at their own risk.
The referee shall:
Record goals scored
Act as a timekeeper and signify full-time by a whistle
Supervise the use of “rolling” substitutes
The duration of the game shall be 20-minute matches with a 5-minute break in between games. No allowances will be made in games for stoppages except in extreme circumstances.
At the beginning of a game, the choice of ends and kick-off shall be decided by the toss of a coin.
Play shall be started with a normal kick-off at the centre of the pitch.
The game shall be restarted in like manner after a goal has been scored.
After any other stoppage, the game shall be restarted by the referee dropping the ball at a point nearest to where it was when play was suspended, unless it was in the goalkeeper’s possession, when the player shall, at the referee’s signal, roll or pass the ball out.
The ball has crossed the goal-line, side-lines or the barricades surrounding the playing area;
The referee has given the signal for full-time.
The game has been stopped by the referee.
There is no offside. Players may place themselves in any part of the playing area
A player who unfairly impedes the progress of an opponent when not playing the ball shall be penalised by the awarding of an indirect free kick.
A player who is sent off shall not be allowed to take any further part in matches during that stage (minimum 2 matches). No substitute is allowed for a player dismissed for misconduct during the game in which the offence occurred.
Free kick: When a player is taking a direct or indirect free kick, all of the opposing players shall be at least 6 yards from the ball until it is in play. All free kicks given against the defending side for infringements committed in or near the penalty area shall be taken from where the free kick was awarded.
Penalty kick: A penalty kick shall be taken 10 yards from the centre of the goal being attacked, and except for the defending goalkeeper, only the player taking the kick can enter the penalty area until they take the penalty kick.
All players can enter their own and their opponent's penalty areas at any time, apart from penalty kicks. Only the penalty taker and the Goalkeeper are allowed in the penalty area until the penalty kick has been taken.
All goal kicks start with a throw. Remember, they cannot go overhead height.
After holding the ball, the goalkeeper must immediately return the ball into play with a throw.
Goalkeepers must not hold onto the ball for more than 6 seconds. In the event of this happening, the referee will award an indirect free kick.
If goalkeepers receive the ball from open play, they can pass it with their feet. If they decide to pick it up, then they must throw the ball.
Apart from the above rules, the matches will be run as a normal game. Overhead height is permitted at all times.
All teams participating in the city/national rounds will need to play wearing the jerseys provided by the tournament organisers. Not doing so can result in being disqualified from the event.
The final decision pertaining to all regulatory matters of the tournament will lie with the tournament organisers. All decisions taken by the organisers will be final and binding.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Arab Emirates.
